SCOPE Site Innovation Award

Celebrating Creativity in Site-Centric Approaches to Advance Clinical Trials for All Stakeholders

Deadline for Submissions: October 24th.

WHAT IS IT?

We are excited to announce our 3rd Annual Site Innovation Award, recognizing sites and partnerships pioneering new approaches to improve clinical trials. This is an opportunity to highlight your successes and be recognized by your peers for your dedication to advance clinical research. By sharing your actionable solutions, you will inform the broader Clinical Operations Community at SCOPE.

Our definition of innovation is inclusive of low-tech or high-tech solutions, or any site operations-related process improvements that effectively reduce site burden and improve a site’s ability to advance clinical research while providing patient-centered care.

Potential areas for consideration might include:

  • Processes that improve site operational efficiency
  • Study activation innovation
  • Partnerships and/or processes improving community engagement and diversity
  • New technologies that enhance, empower, and improve operations
  • Innovative data capture, transfer, and integration
  • Innovative vendor partnerships
  • Measures that demonstrate cost savings or improved efficiencies
  • Measurable successes in patient-centered care
  • Successes in staff training, support, career ladders, retention, and/or inclusivity

WHO IS IT FOR?

We welcome submissions from sponsors, sites, site networks, academic medical centers, CROs, and service providers who are leveraging new technologies, processes, workflows, and/or partnerships in an effort to modernize clinical trials while reducing site burden.

We encourage individual organizations or teams collaborating in novel ways to submit.

  • Site or Site Network
  • Sponsor+Site
  • Technology Provider+Site
  • CRO+Site
  • Site+CRO+Sponsor
  • CRO+Technology Provider+Site
  • etc.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

All submissions will be reviewed by our panel of industry experts representing perspectives from various sides of the clinical operations ecosystem. Finalists will be selected to present their concepts in-person at SCOPE taking place February 3-6, 2025 in Orlando, Florida.

Each finalist will be given 2 minutes to present, followed by a question-and-answer session conducted by the judges. Each submission will be reviewed and rated for creativity in improving site success, reducing burden, and supporting digitalization of clinical trials. Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd place with special recognition for all presenters.

HOW TO WIN?

We’re looking for real-world innovations that help clinical research sites thrive.  Your submission should demonstrate a clear, measurable improvement to site operations, site sustainability, or patient-centered care. This is not about flashy tech for tech’s sake—it’s about practical, impactful innovations or interventions that enable sites to be more effective and efficient in delivery.

We are looking for:

  • Solutions that reduce site burden and enable staff to do their best work
  • Approaches that improve diversity, community engagement, and trial access
  • Innovations that streamline workflows, improve data flow, or enhance activation
  • Technologies or partnerships that make clinical trials easier to conduct—and easier for patients to participate in

Helpful questions to address in your submission:

  • What challenge were you trying to solve at the site level?
  • What made your approach new or different?
  • Who did you partner with, and how?
  • What measurable impact did your innovation have?
  • How did it improve site performance, sustainability, or patient experience?

Judges will be looking for:

  • Practical innovation that advances trial execution
  • Creativity in process, partnership, or technology
  • Clarity of results and impact on the clinical research ecosystem
  • Feasibility and scalability for other sites or sponsors to adopt

The bottom line: if it helped a site succeed, we want to hear about it.

Deadline for Submissions: October 24th.
